The Slots, or a Slot Machine Game, is an abstract game where a single player activates a randomized mechanism which instantly determines the result of the game, typically without much or any ability by the player to influence said result in a significant manner. The Slots are usually played for money, with the mechanism being activated by either pressing a large button or pulling a lever. In the realm of video games, Slots tend to be included as a sub-game and not as the only playable aspect.
Slots-reducible games tend to draw their appeal from flashy and grandiose asthetics, or from the appeal of a possible lucrative reward by the mechanism, the latter of which would necessitate the game existing within a larger context to give the reward some value, such as a cash prize or a collectible item.
